Description
Scion of an old-money San Francisco family, Daniel Brasher left a well compensated position as a money manager to marry his community organizer wife and work at a job hew loves, leading group counseling sessions with recently paroled violent offenders. After receiving a threatening note intended for someone else and discovering that the person to whom it was addressed has been brutally murdered, Daniel finds that the killer might have a connection to the offenders he's counseling. As he tries to uncover the truth, he finds more warnings-- to victims who can't be saved-- in his office mail, and that his efforts to find and help them have brought him into the killer's sights.
